Pick a central hotel over a cheaper, further one
With kids, travel time between activities matters more than usual. A hotel in Deira, Bur Dubai, or the Marina keeps most sightseeing within a short drive, which adds up over a week.
Build the day around the heat, not the itinerary
Outdoor activities — the desert safari, for instance — work best scheduled for early morning or late afternoon into evening, with midday reserved for indoor stops like the mall aquarium or an ice rink.
What tends to work well with kids
- Dubai Fountain show — free, short, and works for almost any age.
- Desert safari with a family-friendly camp (confirm this when booking — some are adults-only).
