Arrival & Acclimatisation
Arrive at the trip start point (Shimla or Manali, route-dependent), rest and acclimatise before the ascent begins.

Into the Valley
Drive toward Kalpa or Chitkul, gaining altitude gradually.

Onward to Tabo
Continue toward Tabo, known for its centuries-old monastery.

Kaza & Key Monastery
Arrive in Kaza, visit Key Monastery in the afternoon.

Langza, Hikkim & Komic
Day trip to the high-altitude villages of Langza, Hikkim and Komic.

Chandratal Lake
Drive to Chandratal, weather and road conditions permitting, for an evening by the lake.

Return Journey Begins
Start the return drive toward Manali or Shimla, retracing part of the route.

Departure
Arrive back at the trip end point and transfer onward.

Important Information
- This route is only run roughly May to October, when the high passes are open.
- Altitude sickness is a real risk — we build in a gradual ascent, but travellers with heart or lung conditions should consult a doctor before booking.
- Chandratal access depends on road and weather conditions and may be skipped if unsafe.
